How to treat infant colic

Dietary adjustments
- Consultation with a doctor can be obtained in order to identify the appropriate diet for the mother and her baby after removing the nutrients that contain lactose causing the allergy in the infant, and thus treat colic resulting from this allergy.
- Avoiding the mother to drink drinks and foods that contain caffeine, such as coffee, tea and others, help to improve colic suffering in the infant.
- Choosing a feeding bottle suitable for the baby, as it does not allow him to swallow a lot of air during lactation, as well as adjusting his position when feeding him by making him seated in a proper way, reduces his chances of exposing the stomach to colic, without losing sight of his burping during and after feeding.
Relax the baby
- Make the baby suck the pacifier.
- Roll the baby and cut it well.
- Use a rocking chair to shake the baby, or rock it with a cuddle.
- Gently massage the baby's belly or back.
- Not exposing the baby to a lot of calmness or placing him in a dark room for a long time, but rather replacing it with playing some soft music to prevent the situation from getting worse.
Additional means to treat infant colic
- Carrying a baby helps relieve the annoying symptoms of colic that he may be experiencing, and a carrier can be used to fix the baby near the mother or father’s body.
- Singing to the baby may offer some help.
- Try placing a bottle of warm water on the child's stomach, or replace it with a warm towel.
- Contribute to reducing childhood heartburn and rid it of gases by holding it upright.
- The child took a stroll, whether in the car or by putting him in his cart and walking.
