Treating vomiting in children


  •  Give the child a solution of dehydration, and see a fast doctor in severe vomiting.
  •  Feed the child a few bananas, apples, and boiled potatoes.
  •  Breastfeed every hour and a half to avoid dehydration, and to compensate for the fluid shortage caused by vomiting.
  •  Antibiotic treatment if vomiting is caused by bacterial diseases, and this treatment is carried out under the supervision of a specialist doctor.
  • Surgical treatment if vomiting occurs due to a birth defect such as narrow stomach gate, or intestinal gland. 
  • Feeding the child with different fluids to provide him with the necessary energy and suitable nutrients such as cranberry juice, apple juice, soup and others.
  • The child is given intravenous fluids in hospital in cases of severe dehydration caused by vomiting.

Causes of vomiting in children
  • Giving the child excess quantities of different foods and drinks, which causes him to get rid of this increase.
  •  Stomach upset caused by a viral infection, especially if this condition is accompanied by diarrhea.
  •  Having many disorders, which are infections that affect:
  1.  middle ear.
  2. Aerial people.
  3.  Urinary and bladder system.
  4.  Appendix.
  • Infection with throat and respiratory diseases.
  •  Exposure to stress, whether at school or at home, if the child is in primary school.
  •  Viral infection in the stomach and intestine.
  • Headache and head injury.
  • Coughing and food allergies.
  • Infection caused by eating invalid food.
Complications of vomiting in children


  •  Severe abdominal pain, decreased bowel movements, or flatulence for more than an entire day.
  • Severe drowsiness while continuing to vomit.
  •  Continuing to vomit for a day is evidence of a viral infection.
  • Dry tongue.
  • Crying and continuous crying.
  • Decreased urination times, so that the baby gets less than six diapers during the day.
  • Note the presence of blood or green matter in the vomit.
  •  Direct vomiting half an hour after suckling.
